CCBII (Computer Controlled Brake)

Overview   |   Features & Benefits

The CCBII computer controlled brake is a microcomputer network-based system that provides faster response for full automatic and independent brake control on freight and passenger locomotives. Railroad data proves that CCBII is the industry’s most reliable air brake.

CCBII features advanced self-diagnostics – seven processors continuously monitor system pressures, signals and each other to ensure a safe and reliable system. Modularized line replaceable units (LRUs) provide a 20-minute mean time to repair (MTTR), reducing costs and locomotive downtime.

As a result of FRA inspections and close monitoring of performance standards, CCBII qualifies for a best-in-class, cost-reducing extended overhaul period of up to 10 years. The most field-proven locomotive computer controlled brake in the world, CCBII integrates seamlessly with EP-60 and LOCOTROL® EB.
